I need to replace the head on my VW 1982 Mk1 Golf GTI...

Can anybody tell me if there is a specific number on the head I need to be aware of?

I'm currently looking on the bay and wish to ensure I don't buy the wrong thing.  My current head is at the engineers so I don't have it to hand to check myself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most of the 1.8 injection heads will be ok, just make sure it is non hyd tappets

Daft question but how will I know if it's hyd tappets or not from a piccy?

Hyd tappet heads have only got 4 cam bearing caps, non hyd has 5.

what size is it, 1.6 or 1.8?
