Could you use this if you snip the HID ends off this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/H4-HID-Xenon-Relay-Wire-Wiring-Harness-Fuse-/270613185195?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f01cd82ab#ht_1943wt_907)? Just a thought  :undecided:

The other one is a much easier guide to follow...IMO

Hi Adam,

I wouldn't use that set-up if I were you.  It only has one relay and those cables don't look any heavier than the ones in the original wiring loom.

What you're looking for is thick cables and either two, or perhaps four, relays to minimise voltage drop between the battery and bulb.

aye main thing is ideally you want 1 fuse and relay per side for the dipped beam, otherwise if 1 goes you'll loose all the lights. relay for main beam isnt so necessary but i always add one for completness

I relay'd main + dip beams for both sides individually, means i'll only loose 1 function (dip/main) if a relay diesĀ

That write up is good.  Don't buy cheap ready made kits, you may as well stick with what you've got.  Also wouldn't bother with the HID wires.  Its better to just get exactly the length you need or more at the gauge of your choice, you're own connections and do it from scratch.  Easier than you might think.

Make a list of all you need from www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk and price it up.

They have all you could possibly need; and while you're at it get some high capacity starter cable or flexible welding cable and ring terminals to do a proper engine earth and starter motor connection, to guarantee a good start in the cold weather.

A few spare fuses and whatever to make the most of the carriage cost, and make your life easier in the future!!

(I've no connection with them)

Agreed Ben.

There are numerous threads on headlight loom upgrades.  Probably because it's such a useful mod.
