just thought this would be the best place to come!
iv got a 2.0 mk4 golf gti non turbo and im wanting to start work on it
my friend has a focus st3 and is constantly reminding me that his car would make mines look silly :) i was gonna change to another car but decided i just like golf's to much!
please give me ideas on what kind of turbo i should have or what i would need? i dont know alot about cars but if i was given the right idea id have a garage take care of the rest

The focus is a much better car - dont waste any money on the 2.0 8v :smiley:

i would start with a good 1.8t base and go from there. the possibilities are endless as long as your wallet is too :wink:

You have the better car (vw blinkers on) but the wrong engine if you want to go out and play with you mates ST3.
There a re thisnf you can go with the 2L but you are going to be spend ££££££ to do it so it not worth it mate. A 1.8T in the Mk4 with a ko3s and remap would see you haveing the bhp to keep up or posably beet you mates ST3.

even with that i doubt hed match an st3, they are stunning cars and quick to boot, a boosted r32 might be a better plan of action if he wants to beat it.
st3 might not look much on bhp but that 2.5 engine is an absolute beast!

If its a standerd ST3 car makes 221 bhp on paper, but as we all know a little fettle with a Map can make that a diffarant car.
