Title: 60/40 split rear seats

I've just bought a 60/40 rainbow rear seat with headrest. Stripped it, cleaned it, bought another seat from a GL just for the pressed board backings and plastic trim, basicly made it like new. However, something is niggling in the back of my mind that 60/40's were not an option on a 3 door.

The purist in me is saying I shouldn't fit it if it was never available from the factory. Does anyone know if you could order a split seat in a 3 door?

Think they were... My Sons 1991 3Dr Driver had them from New...

and were an option on gtis too, my 3door gti had a splitfold :)
