Title: GT5 "easter egg"
Post by: fozziie on 10 December 2010, 18:58
right, apparently, if you happen to have one of the Mines Nissan Skylines, roll it on the roof and take a pic, you'll see that underneath it has a screw and a "made in china" stamp on it!

i shall be trying this later.

I'm sure I saw this posted before, maybe on another forum.

They used die-cast models to aid in some of the designs for the cars. The cars aren't meant to flip over, most of them don't have any detail. However, one car has the same detail as from a die-cast model, including a Philips screwhead and the 'Made in China' visible.

Wow... and that's a "easter egg"

I'm pretty sure the easter egg from Forza was a free car added to your garage.

An easter egg is something coders put in as bit of fun mainly for there amusement then the end user. Computer software is full of them, you just may not notice them or are well hidden. There normaly just bits of text or something a bit weird. They dont add to the software at all!

A free car would be bonus/extra content

Fair enough. Thought what with the name it was a seasonal thing. I think T10 gave a car to you each time there was a sniff of a significant time of year.

Simpsons road rage was good. At xmas the front end would go all snowy and you could use xmas themed cars for a month!

You get a free car from the year you were born as a birthday present on GT5

yeah, if you make a new profile on your ps3 and set the birthday to 1967, you get one one of the 20,000,000cr race cars you need for a trophy and the to complete one of the race events on GT5. just do that and gift the car to your proper psn account!

Free and takes 2mins, don't even have to use a real email addy.

Looks like we are in store for some pretty massive changes and evolutions to GT5 in the months and years to come. A credit and score system is coming to multiplayer amongst many graphical upgrades and extras. The guy behind the GT series keeps on mentioning free roam mode and city style driving aswell.

Will be interesting to see what they are going to add, all the complaining from the hard to please must of finally sunk in during the last five years

It is a "minor" cheat but not really when you consider that you can't sell these cars to make you any money, and it would take a huge amount of time "which i dont have spare" to raise 20 million for one car.

The whole process from start to finish takes about seven minutes but your not guaranteed to get the Ferrari 330 P4 on a first attempt, took me 11. I would never use this cheat to gain me credits or help me in the game, I just like the car and can't be bothered saving the 20 million.

I played on Monday just gone for my birthday and a message popped up straight away saying I had received a 'Special' car manufactured the year I was born.

It might not of come up if you hadn't set a birth date when making your original PSN account the first time you used the system online

Nah I think it verifies date over the tinterweb. You could just set the dob for today though on the new account though and you will get a car. 1967 got me a P4 race car  and a mk1 MR2 for my real birthday
