years ago i had a window fail on a 99 1.8t, that was a plastic clip jobby and also fixed under warranty, my current 00 2.0 also has a broken window (currently held up by a bit of 4x2 by previous owner) ive not looked myself yet but he said that the wire had come off the mechanism. can anyone here enlighten me as to what the problem here may be and what parts im gonna need. im assuming its another common fault

well all i needed was the white plastic clip to till i unscrewed the motor off the metal sheet behind the doorcard, you can buy the cable as a set which comes with cable ties which wraps around the motor, then snipping the tie off so it locks under tention, i just decieded to get the garage to do it as if i mess it up its really tricky to put back together.
