Title: frozen hand break

grr  i hate winter.

cusn droped my car off at my house after sorting out my clutch pedal.

he left it on the front with the hand break on. just went to move it then onto the drive, and the handbreaks frozen on, ive taken it off and left it in gear, any tips on how to speed it up? currently will not move a inch, the wheels spin before they find enough grip to make it move.

got it moved now, one kettle of water under the car seamed to create enough heat to loosen it slightly, and after rocking it back and forth a few times it eventualy moved, very slowly with alot of wheels spinning, but still moved   :grin:

Check the condition of the cables, one of mine had split, allowing water to get in and freeze solid.easy job to replace also

had same problem last week mate, jack up the rear end and wd40 the cable and the handbrake arm's, obviously make sure u dont accidentaly spray any onto the pads and disc's , i leave mine in gear with the handbrake of now and will continue to do so untill this sh**y weather is over with.

i had same prob a week ago cables split allowing water to get in and freeze so had them changed all nice and new now  :smiley:

yeah the cables proberbly split, but i dont fancy climbing around under the car to replace it.

Mate you haven't seen my street/ drive. Its a inch of snow coverd with a inch of slush. Just walking to your car gets your trousers pitted in snow, muc and other crap that's in the slush.

Yepp haha :D

Once its stoped snowing its getting replaced. Untill then ill just continue to park in gear, tbh half the time I don't even need it in gear cause I park in massive rutts of snow, but do leave it in gear for the safeness just to make sure.
