Got the dreaded MOT 2moro
The only thing I can see is possibly 2 new front tyres but my cars seem to have a nasty habit of having other problems come MOT time. Wish me luck :undecided:
-
goodluck fella.
always a worrying time
-
good luck with the mot.
my problem with the mot this time of year is the windscreen washes being frozen.
-
My problem with MOT's is that they usually end up expensive, LOL! Think in 8 years driving, only once, has a car gone straight through. That was my Audi A4. Fingers crossed tho. Do you have to be able to open the windows to pass an MOT? Bit of a stupid question I know but the window regulator has packed up and I've managed to patch it up and keep the window up at the mo.
-
join the club. ive just replaced mine.
window works a treat now
-
Don't think they do mate
-
Did you replace the whole panel? How much was it if you don't mind me asking and where did you get it from?
-
when mine went i asked at vw how much it was for the whole pannel. £120 or somewere in that region i remember them being, but can proberbly get them half the price off ebay ect.
-
i got a bent mot place around my way..... No font number plate rear lights not working. I just go in and tell them i am going to sort that today and they just pass it.
-
window reg just needs the repair kit, numbers are in the maintenance section
-
Good luck :afro:

I paid less than £80 for one from VW a couple of years ago so that's some price increase if they're that much now!

Car Failed
2 Front tyres which I knew about, one cv joint, a slight binding on one of the rear brakes and one headlight is knackered. £400's worth
Anyway all being sorted today. My question is this, A new headlight is going to set me back £60ish from the garage. Would it be worth me then buying the Depo set that Purely Vag has for sale on here and then selling my standard ones? How much could I possibly sell my standard lights for and would they be easy to shift?

unlucky mate, at least your getting it done and its outa the way for another 12 months
-
£400 sounds steep to me for the work being under taken..
-
What light you after mate?
-
All done now mate, it was the passenger headlight I had replaced.
The bill was as follows:
Headlight £65
Brake Pad £25
CV Joint £15
2 Tyres £90
Total: £195 + £160 labour +£45 for the actual MOT
Grand Total was £462. It's all done now and I need not worry for a while. But I'm gunna learn how to do some of the simpler stuff myself so if stuff like this happens again maybe I can do some of it instead.
-
Jeezzz man that was an expensive day for you lol
-
Hell yeah, could have got a Depo set of headlight off Purely for £20 more than I paid for the one headlight. Forgot he was selling them till 2 hrs after I told the garage to do the work.

thats life tho my friend..
