so i looked in the maintenance section and didnt see anything related but it's possible i may have over looked it..

bought a new handbrake mechanism for my car.. any advise on taking the old one off and putting a new one in its place? is this a hard job?

easy job!
if post-88 undo the nuts holding the cables to lever, then undo 2 nuts holding lever to car. unplug wiring and swap.
if pre-88 there's a pin holding lever to car, pop of circlip(s) & pull pin, undo handbrake cable nuts and wiring then swap.
