where is the hazard switch, dash or column? are you looking to remake the entire thing from scratch or just patch bits up? also which bit in particular, engine, lighting or interior?

right, this means its the pre-90 with CE1 fusebox.  problem with this is getting the pins for the fusebox plugs is a bit tricky, but i think vehicle wiring products do them, though its a bit hard to tell if they're the right ones from the pictures.  any MK2 golf with the hazard switch in the same place would be fine to pinch a headlight loom from if you wanted to just replace it, otherwise you can remove it from the car for repair if you pull the brake servo forward off the bulkhead. in the footwell there are 4 nuts plus a pin to secure the brake pedal to the clevis pin, remove all that and the servo can be pulled forward. you can even leave all the master cylinder and brake lines attached if you're careful.

hardest part of a repair job is getting the hard plastic tubing off as it can be a bit of a pain. if you're after loom tape the stuff i use is called 'rayon' looks pretty much identical to the loom tape used on later VWs.

oh and pm me your email address, i have a wiring diagram which will be handy for you
