Hi all, Is it utterly essential to use G12 i could only find G50 or something in camberlys, will this matter in my 1.8T??
Don't even understand what the numbers mean :)

I think you will find that G50 is Gear oil mate :shocked: :lipsrsealed:
G12 Plus Plus is mega stuff mate and not really that expensive from VW. If you can get this then go for it.
The reason why its good is because it dosent corrode/block up water ways in the enging as must compeared to other antyfreeze, can cope with a lot of diffarance temps +&- and not brake down and if VW use it in all there cars, be it a Fox to a R8 Audi you know thay must have tested it quite a lot :)

Nah it says antifreeze on it!! Just has g50 written on it?
And it also says officially tested on VAG

any 4 year life antifreeze will do, avoid the one and 2 year stuff as these dont have the rust inhibitors.
i still dont get why people rave about g12, jut cos its oe doesnt mean its essential, its just antifreeze!
