just put in a couple of bottle of g12++ and then add water the stronger the better.

too strong a mix of antifreeze can be very damaging, 50:50 at most. distilled water isnt need either

how you work out it can be damaging ??

Because coolant additives have a low thermal capacity and a high viscosity, the water molecules are the ones taking the heat away from the engine. The glycol in the G12 will gel up and cause overheating/dead waterpumps if used undiluted.

yer i understand that but as long as there is water in there, there shouldnt be a problem.. i didnt say use undiluted just a stronger mixture will withstand lower temps.. no ??

perhaps i should have said "insufficiently diluted" rather than undiluted. The general rule of thumb is more than 50/50 and you're heading for the problems mentioned above.

hmm interesting well i done as said above and tested it with a tester yesterday an it says its perfect for up to -40 or something.. maybe i just was lucky..

that test will just show how good it is as an antifreeze, not as a coolant. You might get away with it over winter, just keep an eye on the header tank for any gloopy sh!t. Be sure to drain some off and top up with water before the weather warms up or you risk overheating issues.

The smaller bottles are 1.5l but i get mine in a huge drum because there seems to be an awful lot of people having their thermostats changed now that they really want their heaters working properly

Also undiluted antifreeze when its heated becomes a bit of a corrosive, i saw a freshly rebuilt engine in a dennis dart sieze after less than 1000 mile cos the antifreeze was so concentrated, ate away the gaskets and got into the bores, busted for good
