Title: hi there newbie with a question

would anyone know if a 1600 8 valve starter motor would fit a 1400 8 valve mk4 golf??
its the type that bolts to the front engine mount and ha three holes rather than two
its also a lefthand drive model??

i will also be looking for a nice set of 17 r 18 inch wheels if there are any for sale

hi yes its from an 8 valve 1600 golf mk3 and i need to know if it will fit an 8 valve 1400 mk4 golf

dont think so the mk4 is a far superiorly designed car and it would be offended to have parts from such a forgotten car..

iuf both cars have 8 valve engines maybe they might be interchangeable units??

Different engine type, gearboxes are also different.

8 valve isnt an engine type, just how many inlets and outlets there are in total. You could have a 1.2 litre car with 8/16v but obv has a smaller engine (never mind shape and bolt on stuff) than a 2 litre 8v, what you really need is to be asking about engine codes, not the spec of the engine

1.6 mk3 will be a ABU, AEA, AEE, AFK or AFT . AKS

1.4 mk4 will be AHW, AXP, BCA
