It going to be a very busy week full stop..lol we have a major back log of work due to me being ill, the snow and my wife being in A&E for 2 days. And now we have a full team of 4 staff again, Jims wife decided to pop a baby out on saturday morning which has but me a mechanic down, Pip keeps booking days off for his and his birds birthday.... Its all going tits up... help And its bloody cold..
Rant over..
As far as I know Pips booked 3 jobs in for tomorrow two Golf 1.8T maps in the morning one at 9.30 the other at 12pm and summat else for 3pm, In between this I have to fit a water pump and cam belt on an AGU, change a set of valves in a Seat Leon 1.8T, and fit a Ko3-hybrid turbo to a AGU...
So who ever posted its going to be busy was 100% on the money...
I am looking forward to giving tech1889 a huge grin tomorrow....

Cheers Wife is ok now, she fell down the stairs and landed on her back which aint too good seeing she is 34week up the duff she ended up with bust rib and bruised back. The local A&E did not know what to do becuase they cannot do a spine xray on women up the duff, so the book kept getting passed around each dept for 2 wasted days.
@ tech1889
We will be there for around 9.30am, If your early I am sure Sally will keep you entertained with her lovely baps.... and a nice cup of tea

Wicked be good to have just mk4's tho.. speak to people we always talk to but face to face without a key board lol
-
Only mk4s lol that will be the day how many seats do u think will turn up lol
-
duna if we get 20+ would be good.. they normally have quite good turn outs..
-
Nice one bud  will be worth the wait  then you will appreciate what a real gti should feel like good luck tommorra and say hello to nick for me
-
Nick should have a camera ready and waiting after customers take the car out for the first time, funny as feck seeing people trying to look cool and not crack open a big smile, the smile always wins though
-
Yeah a big meet like that would be good, I know im not a Gti owner but its the mk4 that counts in the end and seeing some of u guys with some cracking golfs alone wud just be worth the travel. 300 miles away but im sure me and a couple of mates will head down. I think i can pull 6-7 golfs down to a meet if its a fair big one.
Would be best in the summer though as its a better drive then for everyone.
-
count me in, looking to get a remap done after Christmas...

-
Right ladies and lady boys..
I am back form RTech i was there 5 hours today  what can i say.. ermm..
First things first Pip bought me breakfast which was cool.. then Nick and his bro spent about 3 hours giving my engine the once over.. replacing a snapped dip stick and fitting my new forge intake pipe which i still haven't looked at.. Next they smoke tested the system there was a few leaks but all sorted now.. Whilst all this was happening me and Pip were chatting about lots of bollocks.. but he gave me the go ahead for sorting and taking control of the rolling road day  The date will be put out once i confirm.. must be a sunday tho as some of the companies are open on saturday so would be less parking.. Also while Nick was working hard me and Pip smoked loads of fags and looked at sally baps
Standard my car pulled 160bhp at the fly and 134 at the wheels.. which i thought was very strong Nick thought the same..
Nick then put on Gen 5 stage 1 map ( which ive been told i am the first person to have ) it made 221 at the fly and 198 at the wheels.. also i had left foot braking and launch control fitted   went for test drive but its so cold up north the roads were icey and couldnt put any power down..
The drive back was very good over taking power is second to none i absolutely love the car i have re-fallen in love with it.. Only problem was sh!tty average speed checks on the M1 and M25 but on the back roads near where i live it was awesome..
I would like to thank Nick his brother and not forgetting good ol Pip.. Cheers guys will be back soon.. All in all the most fun day ive had in a long while..
-
Glad to hear your good news matey! Maybe this time next year i'll be the one heading for R-Tech :D Once another years NCB is gained im getting myself a real toy hehe.
-
thats good to hear mate.. will sort rolling road day you should come who said it had to be a gti i just said mk4
-
gdgd then haha. Aslong as u make it near summer haha wen its warmer lol. I have to travel 300 miles there haha. So a nice warm-ish day would be magic lol hahaha
-
going to be around May time.. as RTech already do a general summer rolling road day..
-
May suits me matey. By that time i'll have the 1.4 finished. Milltek cat back gets done start of jan (booked) and alloys (BBS CH's) hopefully this month. Thats that finished then once i get the upgrade next year it'll all go on and the 1.4 will sadly be passed on.
-
I am glad you both got home safe and sound, I did not think you was going to make it this morning bacause at 9am our local radio station reported every local motorway closed and every A road blocked up, I really did not want to get out of bed this morning, too bloody cold for me.. but after reading your feedback it seems braving the cold has really been well worth it, with all of us at R-Tech its all about happy customers....and by going that extra mile we always hit the nail on the head by seeing the grins on customers faces and reading the good reviews.
@Tech1889
I know you got loads of PMs from another tuning companies telling you to cancel your booking with us and go with them to get a generic map flash on a driveway for £150 cash..lol I have PMd the JV the owner of the site telling him about the situation.
They would have not spotted all the leaking boost pipe without a smoke tester or with out a ramp. So by sticking to your guns has paid off. I bet your glad now that you didnt get fooled by the cheap map offer as you are the first to get the brand new gen5 mapping, with launch control and boost and brake. And to top it off your car made really good power 221bhp 230lbft from a stage1.
Thanks for the offer of sorting the next charity rolling road, this time is should be a big one, I found out last week that before our last rr day some members got told by poeple on the forum they where not welcome to the event, so I just want to point out that every one IS welcome to the next event.
Thanks again to you both for your custom and feedback today, any problems, issues or question you got our numbers.
Cheers
R-Tech
Nick, Rob, Pip & Jim

-
oooh now if its any thing to do with golfs you can count me in lol

-
yeah no worries just let us know fella
-
I have just gotta see what insurance have to say about an inter cooler and Miltek sport cat exhaust. Then i'll be up there for a nice new remap
Outta interest when someone quotes the bhp or there car is it the ponies at the fly or at the wheel quoted?
-
Both you get the graph showing at the fly and at the wheel..
-
Hi tech1889
Thanks for the feedback hearing really good things about R-Tech think you have convinced me to get mine done. I have a standard 1.8T 20V Just bit worried about my standard clutch and Split in Diverter valve which I need to replace with a Forge!
Was yours standard?
Kev
-
Mine has standard clutch and I've noticed no issues 5K miles down the line from my remap. Chances are if it's already a bit weak then the remap will cause it to fail earlier than standard but what the hell, if you want the performance you have to make some sacrifices right?
-

wow you done well!!!
stnd i was 149 at the fly and 128 at the wheels, once done it made 191 at the fly and 171 at the wheels....
gotta change that dodgey n75 valve still thou!!
was such a fun drive home!!!!

Mine is on na clutch 15k later @ 265BHP all fine here
-
265bhp is over rated Maxxeh
Yer it done really well the car only has 62k on the clock tho and that helps as you clock the miles everything becomes slowly more worn hence less power.. only thing im expecting to go at some point is the coil packs as they the same ones from new..
@ kevin 31
I only went to them on feed back and am pleased i did it pays off... and like i said to Nick i have AMD 5 mins down the road from me along with many other tuners.. yet i paid less for more if you get me ??
-
Thanks for he input guys on the Clutch front! Mine is on 107,000 but has been well looked after! Anyone no if admiral insurance are good on remaps?
tech1889 - Can ask how much it was please? :)
Kev
-
250 for the remap... launch control etc are extras..
-
Excellent thanks! Well Im in pompey so be a few hour drive for me to get there but I thinking new year xmas pressie LOL!
What your insurnace company say?
Kev
-
Admiral..
-
Lol you with admiral to? or you asking why I am with them?
I have two cars and they offer mutli car discounts. The golf is my toy! :)
Kevin
-
No i was just saying Admiral..
-
I pay just shy of £400 for my golf fully comp. Has got 17inch alloys but that's the only mod.
Kev
-
sounds cheap mate..
-
