Title: How Good?
Post by: Len on 11 February 2005, 21:21
How good are Boschmann amps?

Car my son-in-law just got has a big one (size) in it. Must be a 4 channel coz it drives front door speakers and a 12" sub seperately.

Probably budget type - but just curious coz it sounds good.

erm il be honest with you and say that Boschmann amps are absoloutely crap. They have poor specs are are seriously over rated in their performance figures. the old saying of you pay for what you get has never been so true in this case.

sorry for the blunt reply but u did ask

both Boschmann and jackson are classed as budget brand

highly overated amps
also the jackson has a known overheating fault, a mate found out the hard way

its to do with the components and positions inside the amp

jus thought i would let you know, so u can keep it in an open space with your boot and be very careful wen throwing stuff in your boot that it dosent cover it because it has limited ventilation

Cheers!
The amp has the whole boot, when nothing in there!
It runs a 12" kenwood sub that has its box in the boot, but fires through the centre arm rest. The other two channels feed a pair of kenwood 7 x 10s built into their own box above and below the parcel shelf. As this is a fixed rear seat, all is fixed securely to the steel bulkhead, with some holes enlarged.

The head unit runs Infinty 6 x 9s in the front doors and JBL mid/tweets in the dash.
