Doubt they will be plug and play as such. You will need to splice/cut the existing headlight loom for the HIDs.

mk4 golf is completely plug and play
unplug the plug on the headlight plug that into the hid kit plug the hid into the headlight
job done
only problem is you need to ideally remove the headlights to get good access
which in itself involves removing the bumper
-
also drill a hole in the rear plate to accommodate the new loom

I stand corrected

This is such an easy job mate, like troublestarter said its just a plug hid loom into the existing headlight socket then insert the new kit into the bulb holders drill yer hole throiugh cover plate for new wires and thats it. Drive on.

Wot hid kit ppl got as been reading and dunno how true it is but sum hid kits burn the wiper motor out. Also witch kits have plug and play capability?
-
As far as i believe there all plug and play style, correct me if im wrong. I got one off ebay, cudnt tell you the brand of it but ive had the kit in mines now for around 9 months and its still working good. Infact i think im changing back to Halogen lights as the fun of Hid's wares off after a while :P Ok its nice and bright and ya see the road a bit better but without projector headlights they're not so good as the pattern on the road is scattered and looks crap looking at it from a driving point of view. I paid £65 for mines back then so should be around that price or a little cheaper i would think.

Yep getting some projectors off Santa lol

i used to sell them on here, they are soo easy it is unbelievable. the only thing you have to do that is irreversible is like wazzer said - drill a hole in the back of the black plastic plate you take off to expose the bulbs.
I didnt take my lights out, just took the battery out and rammed my hands in and managed to do it. i cant remember the mane though mate sorry.

Mot laws are going to be changing, think long and hard before fitting.

Its not been confermed yet about the HID but i think having projection head lights would help just in case if and when it comes into effect.
