Title: Exhaust popping?
Post by: benstanley on 03 December 2010, 00:57
Was on my way home tonight, pulled up to some traffic lights and forgot to put my car in 1st when pulling off. As i eased off of the accelerator the exhaust popped  Just wondered if anyone could shed any light? Standard exhaust, pretty sure its rotten though as it rasps aswell.

Or is that in itself and explanation to the problem?

Mine used to do this, I replaced the ignition coil and it cured it.

ive had this a couple of times, 1 was when the ignition timing was out, and another time when the exhaust had a bad leak

ign timinbg will loose you power, if way off it wont do the engien any good but usually mk3 ecu puts car into safe mode to avoid damage. zauast leak just makes it sound crap
