Dealer called me today to confirm build week. 3rd week in January  heehee, getting excited.
Also to inform me that 2011 golf gti with bi-xenons now come with day light running LED's like the Audi's-Fantastic. Now match the rear LED's now standard on 2011 Golf GTI's.
Christmas is looking less important.....roll on march 2011.

How many weeks since order was placed?
-
I ordered begining of september but weren't in a rush as Im taking delivery March so its a 2011 plate.[
-
Oooh, make sure they don't use it as a demo with it being sat at the dealer for so long!
-
Ordered a GTD at the end of October. Still no build date. Hope it arrives before April as we are trading the missus car in and it needs an MOT (the car, not the missus).
I have had to resort to lurking here

Oh yeah, didn't think of that. They assured me it would only have delivery mileage on so I'll ask what it is when delivered.
Cheers.

I had this problem before. Picked up my brand new car and it had over 100 miles on the clock. I was really pissed off. Dealer tried to tell me that 100 miles was acceptable delivery miles.
A brand new car should have no more than 10 miles on the clock.

Don't worry Martin, you could retro-fit all the goodies if you really wanted to. Whilst you can be thankful that at least your car has a full coat of paint......probably......

Sure you'll love it, I remember how excited I got after 4 months wait. The anticipation makes it all the more sweeter.
Fantastic car.
Not sure about the Audi style DRLs though....

So you placed your order early September. Then the build date was confirmed at the beginning of December. So roughly 3 months just for the build date? The build date was for week 3 2011. (Is that just the build start date? How long does it take to build a GTI/GTD/R?) So roughly 7 weeks from confirmed build date? And not expecting delivery until March?
The waiting is difficult. However, I would hate to take delivery of my new car in this weather!
-
Didn't want delivery until march as I was buying an "11" private registration. Build wk 3, informed its built in a week.

work on a week to build as you don't know what day it starts on. Then can be a couple of weeks till you take delivery depending on how busy the port is, transport from port to dealer, dealer busy with other cars etc.

Thanks for the informed replies to my posts. That will help me with the waiting.
Order placed almost 2 months ago. Fingers crossed for a build date soon.
