Post by: DTGTI on 02 December 2010, 18:13
Getting my GTI 16V re-sprayed tomorrow... having a bit of a rethink on the bumpers and side trim.... i was going too re-spray all leaving the back to black as standard, with arch covers etc.... just wondering what everyone thinks

Id say leave them black as standard mate not keen on the black trims painted, but its each to their own taste bud so your choice. Get some1 to photoshop a pic for you?? ;-)

its black... thinking prob keep the standard black bump strips... unsure if paint would strip over time..

TBH if it's a black car i'd either leave them as they are or get hold of some smooth (GL?) trims to spray black

The trim is all textured, so it would be a lot of work to respray.

I am of the opinion that it would look better with the standard trim.  The sprayed arches just wouldn't suit it, make it look a bit chavvy.  That's my opinion anyways.
