Title: Quandary
Post by: FOREST GREEN on 01 December 2010, 21:20
A couple of things please gents & ladies...........

Anyone have any good ideas of what to do with the 'hole' in the top of the dash (it would be covered in normally with a double din), has anyone turned it into anything interesting?

Does anyone know of a wooden gear knob that would fit directly onto the mk4? such as this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-VW-POLO-6Q-9N-WOODEN-ANTHRACITE-GEARKNOB-/260587077460?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cac333f54#ht_2313wt_698

Around my centre console, it looks a bit tatty and worn, I've seen that you can buy 'wooden trim' to stick on top of the original, has anyone else done this? (you can get brushed ally or carbon, but I'd like to go down the wood effect route) such as this

Any ideas comments really appreciated

PS its a tight budget I'm on here!!

If you still have the standard head unit fitted then a 6 disc CD changer will fit in there nicely.

As for the Gear knob the GTi came with them

Hmm, did look at the brushed ally, but every chavved up corsa seems to have that stuck in it (no offence intended here chaps), I just wanted it to be a little different, and thought the wood would look good with a wooden gear knob, and, as you say, its definitely the DARK wood.

Don't want to go mad and start sticking it on the door handles etc, just round the front facia. Eventually, I'd like biscuit leather in her as well, so should complement it I think

I got my vinyl from a chap on here but haven't spoke to him in a while.. It was 3m tho..

You should have no trouble buying wood trim as most get rid not long after buying..
