Know what you mean, loving mine as well. Quick question though, I assume you have leather ? I do on my Golf and although the heating gets very warm (and I have to turn it down to position 2-3), it does take some minutes of it being on on full wack to get the warmth coming through.
On my wife's 2006 Polo with the winter pack (but cloth seats), you can feel the heat in a matter of seconds. Is this just the thicker leather material that takes time to let the warmth though or the fact that the leather gets much colder than the cloth and so needs to heat up more ?

I have leather as well, and pretty much do the same thing as you, unless of course I've taken awhile to clear the car of ice/snow, in which case it's warm enough when I get into the car.

My cloth ones take a minute or two to heat up properly.
Heated seats in the winter are f**king amazing

hmmm. I was lead to believe that the heaters wouldn't come on unless your bum was sat down (something to do with the seat belt recongnition system) to save power ? Must try that tomorrow.

they are awsome.... i start my car every morning when its cold and go out 10 mins later and the seats are warm so if there not supposed to come on there must be summat wrong with mine.... but its a good thing as they are nice and warm ready for me to drive off
who ever drives with it on 5 you must be crazy coz i start to sweat when i forget its on 5 lol

Biggest regret of mine buying a GTI without them. I wanted them but i got impatient... Damn

No idea, my perception could be driven by other things, like the cabin being heated up with the blower running, and of course the fact that on a cold day I'm usually wearing a coat.

My leathers heat up pretty quick... And 5 is way too hot to sit on...

Yeah same here! Although i must admit the only setting for me is 5! lol

I'm with Trick, I start sweating too! My passengers seem to cope with it being on 5, no problem

TBH, it's one of the reasons I've kept my car for so long (only normally keep them for 3 years - but I've had the Golf now for 5 !). This morning for instance, outside temperature at 7.15am where I live, -9.5°C. Started the car, and within 3-5 minutes of driving off, outside temp -9°, butt cheek and back temperature +25°C, nice and toasty.
Also, as mine is a soot chucker, the car also has the electric PET heater installed (as all the diesels do), so that means not only was the seat nice and warm, but within a couple of minutes of starting, I had piping hot air coming out of the air vents. Nice.

Yeah, the golf is a nice place to be in this sh!tty temperatures. -10.5 here today!!!

I've got to agree heated seats is the way forward in this weather and 5 is way too hot to sit on.
