Title: Mk4 TDI with DTC code 00741??

I was just wondering if anyone else has come across this code?

It's my GF's car and she was telling me the GLOW PLUG light was flashing, and sure enough it was.

According to my vag scanner its the "Brake Pedal Position Status Monitoring"??

I managed to clear it and took it for a drive and it seemed fine tonight.  But I'm just worried in case it comes on again.  Anyone had this and is it anything to worry about?

Haynes Manual doesnt seem to mention anything about a sensor or anything that measures/detects this?

So it's basically the brake light switch?  The brake lights are working fine though? I assume that doesnt matter?

Yep and the fault will be intermittent  :wink:

Yup, and its just got more perm! LOL  The brake lights now do not work! LOL
