hi, im new here and im new to golfs, just picked up a 1999 1.8turbo 20v golf and i wondered if anyone can advise me on what exhaust would be good and look right out the back?????
-
Welcome to the site..
Milltek anni style
4motion style
or go custom its all up to you mate..
-
im selling a miltek anni style system
-
full system? how much?
and personally i would use a jetex system as i've heard the welds are better than milltek, but other than that millteks are still excellent exhausts
-
thanks guys, is there anywhere that i can hear one?? video or anything, as im after somthing kinda deep and mean ;)
-
try youtube, not sure if the sound quality will be any good though bud
-
cheers, sorry for all the question but where should i look for this exhaust and buying parts??? iv come from a pug106gti to this quility kind of car haha and i havnt a clue what im looking for and reading some posts i dont even understand some of this words. e.g anni? 4 motion???

Full turbo back exhaust is the way to go. Speak to Nick at R-tech he would be able to sort you out with one - he's based in Hinkley, Leicestershire. heard nothing but good things about him, he would be able to give you advice. and if you are after performance, definately get a remap after the exhaust unless you have plans to mod further - you have the KO3 turbo rather than the later KO3s, so you could expect to see power figures of around the 190bhp mark, about a 40bhp increase.
Use the search facility, i'm pretty sure there have been loads of threads on the exhaust debate.
Anni - Anniversay golf - the ones that are standard with 18" wheels, only a limited number of these were made - so when he says anni style - he means the exhaust is the style of the one off the anniversay edition mk4 gti.
4motion - 4motion golf - has a different rear valance for standard twin pipes - different to the 1.8T
hope all this info helps and isnt too much to take in...

never heard anyone have a problem with miltek, search youtube mate plenty of videos. i want £200 for my system there £350 ish new
-
i bought a 4mo style milltek last week and before it was posted it has the tip re-welded as it has hairline crack..
-
im a welder by trade and honestly milteks are the best quality i know of
-
hayward and scott have a good reputation
-
H&S are pricey, are they not.
A few of my mates have them fitted to their 911's and I think they are overrated for the cost.
-
I love my Blueflame system
-
thanks too every1 for the info/help was very intresting :) so a 4motion and a milltec is a good move??? is there any websites to buy thse or would ebay be a good shout??
-
you can get them off ebay but then you will have to pay fitting... look on r-tech, last time i looked they were doing special price on a full turbo back system. expect to pay about £700-£800 for the full system, est £400 for cat back.
-
£349 for cat back fitted..
-
i bought an ebay system dont see the point in spending loads of money on the golf that il never get back and its got to be better than the standard system :laugh:well lets hope so and the welds look ok on it to me bargain cat back brand new £155 just gotta wait for the snow to go so i can put it on
-
i would expect the welds to not be that good for that price and other people i know have bought cheap ebay exhausts and my mates 200sx is un bearable on the motorway at 70mph lol
-
well il give it a go and if it is to loud then it will be coming strait back off i no it makes sense to spend the extra but im just gonna try it an see how it goes had an expensive year with the golf this year lol
-

my yaris was deadly loud at 70, but nearly silent at just over 70? go figure.
it had a flipping loud hks box, only a 3 inch tailpipe
and if its too loud, sound deaden the boot, that helps loads
-
yes thats an option but il prob be happy with it as the main reason i want it on there is for when i get it mapped after xmas  just want the extra power can put up with the noise for some serious power from r tech
-
Miltek 4mo style  nice subtle sound not to ott had full turbo back on mine well worth it but there's one or two other good systems available
-
