Title: would i get away with part number but with different letter at end?

this ic correct number just different last letter

this is the correct number just more money as vw want 1500 quid for new one

i know it might make a difference but just i've seen several with different totally and partial part number differences.

not interchangeable according to ETKA. However 1J0614517E has been replaced with 1J0698517A so there's another part number to search for.

cheers for info  lol just trying to get as cheap as i can as already spent 480 quid on this prob looking at another 300 with th second hand part i found on fleebay so it a bloody lot lol there aint much left that aint brand new on this golf lol taking this mk4 to my grave

been reading a bit more and think on this occasion i'm gonna have to pay to a vagcom scan done to determin if it the

brake pedal sitch fault
or
brake preasure sensor
or
Perform Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) Basic Setting
or
abs unit faulty
or
Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104)

as might end up replacing abs unit when it a sensor(dont know and haynes doesnt say if there in abs unit or not)
