Hey guys,
The GOLF badge on the boot of my Mk 4 GT TDi has lost it's silver finish. Have seen a replacement on ebay... can someone please give me an idiots guide to removing the old badge and attaching the new one... is it a tricky job?
Many thanks

cold chisel and a 4lb club hammer should do the trick, just at the edge of the lettering. When you get the new one, stick it on, with some glue.

IMP looks better without it, anyway when i removed myn i got a heat gun, Dental Floss and some soapy water, i heated up the badge with the Heat gun and pulled the dental floss between the badge and boot to cut thought the glue/sticky pads and used soapy water after to get rid of the rest of the Glue resin.
You may need some sort of sticky stuff remover [i didn't but other members have] as some times its a pain to get the glue totally off.
But may not be the best solution but worked for me and shore one of the other members may be able to albarate more on it mate

i have used fishing wire to remove the badge then wd40 and a credit card to remove the sticky stuff. Never marked and of my car by doing this. But you can buy tar remover that will take anything sticky off.
