Just out of sheer curiosity I have been getting some quotes for other cars.
Turns out that to insure a 2008 Audi A3 2L is cheaper than my current insurance for my mk2 golf. Just not fair...
It's £679 for the Audi and £790 for my golf. That's with my 3 points, a claim and my OH and parents on also. Oh and I'm 20 (almost 21).
3.2 V6 Audi TT it's only £1437.
2L (2009) GT Sirocco - £1065.
and for a 1L Aygo it's only £342!
It's also cheaper for me to insure a 2006 Ford Mustang (at £3635) than it is to insure a M3. :undecided:
Tempted now to use the MK2 as a show car and buying something else if I could find 20k.

Insurance is madness! They shouldn't let me have a car at all let alone a 1.8t  2 expensive claims
Aygo it is... haha
Audi s3? They are nice and quick.

I have to admit I do love the Aygo (and 107 etc).
We had one as a courtesy car and they are mental to throw around even though they're diddy cars!!
I wish I had enough monies to buy another car though :(

Insurance is crazy! Im 23, and my insurance company told me i couldn't have a Mk5 GTI until i was at least 30 because they're too powerful for me apparently! BUT... They would insure me on a BMW 330i M-Sport for £1000... So i told them to sod off and come back to me with a real reply because i'd already bought the car, and they quoted me £647 with £100 excess...
Sometimes i think they just think of a number in their heads and that will do... (i know it doesn't work like that but its annoying the way they penalise for anything they can)
