Title: heater matix
Post by: jay12345 on 29 November 2010, 15:47
.Had me heater control flap done the other day cos it was faulty.Vag-com has no faults and water pump and thermostat were done before.Looks likely to be the heater matrix.Pipe going in is hot to touch and pipe out is only warm.Got myself a plug in heater to keep me going .I might try swapping over the climatronic head unit then looks like a summer job and get the dash out..Happy days..jay

Thats a real bummer mate. I was just reading you last post about this and it sounded like you had solved the problem with that valve. Haven't heard of a heater matix going befor on a MK4.
You must be frigging Frezzing in the golf with no worm air

Have you tried bleeding the system.

This is what Jay has done before Wayne.

Changed my heater matrix back in September. Got a Haynes manual, took it step by step and was done in six hours. Really isn't that hard of a job so don't be put off if you do need to do it! Must agree though, it's not the best weather for the job.

The system has been flushed 3 times and still the same.I get some warm air after 15mins.Its not the best weather to be changing the matrix so just gonna wait till summer and have some fun pulling me golf apart.I thought it was gonna be sorted by changing the flap which was faulty but oh well got me 12v heater and a hat and scarf..Happy  :smiley:days.

Was it hard to fix the heater control flap behind the glove box? Think that might be the problem with mine.

took it to a garage to get the flap done. You then have to set it up with vag com.Im getting warm air out and got a plug in heater so it int too bad.Bloody minus 8 the other morning so just kept me hat on..
