Hey guys I've been speaking to some mates about the sound quality in my mk4 gollf. Its all standard at the moment but i've heard the amp in the head unit isn't particularly good. I was wondering if i was to install an amp if i would see much of an improvement? Not really that fussed about installing a sub or anything
-
your correct they aint that great but you would see a massive improvment just my installing some good quallity speakers up front you mite want to add a amp for the new speekers but fisrt thing i would do is replace the speekers
-
Thanks,
Do you know if the Bose speakers from the S3 will easily go into the Golf Mk4? I've got a Bose sound dock at home and have always been impressed by their speakers.
-
im not sure to be honest mate if you find a set then find the mesurments and post them up im sure some one on here will help you out with sizes :)
-
wel i put a set of infinitys kappas in mine only like £400 ish for them and they are amazing i have got them amped up now but they do make the world of diffrence
-
£400!!!!
Please say you mean £40.
-
nope i got them last year theyt are the correct size for the mk3 front speekers and come with crossovers and tweetersreally nice speekers i got them at a competative price when i got them cos i shopped arround
-
Standard components then. All comps come with mid, tweet & xover. Where abouts did you get them from. £400 seems like an absurd price to pay for them.
Any set of 6.5s with a thinish surround will fit the mk3.
-
I saw a set of the front speakers going on ebay for about £50. I think it said they were 6.5 inches. I'll look for them again and post the full spec on here
-
JUST SEEN THE GUY ASKING ABOUT SPEEKERS HAS A MK4 NOT A MK3 ARE THEY DIFFRENT SIZES?
also my speekers dont fit in the hole i made a new lower door card :)
-
Not sure of std mk4 size. Would guess 6.5".
I've forgotten what the OP was. Whether to upgrade to amp?
Best way to improve a stereo (unless your flush) is to do it bit by bit spending a bit more on each item. Amp this time, then HU, then speakers etc.
As always though. It's only as good as the weekday link and is all down to installation.

On a sort of related note does anyone know of a good company that does mobile installs?
I'm in Bromley so anyone in the SE London / Kent area I would imagine would come out to me.

Mobile installs!
What exactly do you want doing?
