Title: rear bushes
Post by: mac456 on 28 November 2010, 21:12
Hi guys,

Im Just looking for some info on the rear bushes.

Does £149 sound right to get the standards ones changed?

How much should I be looking at for upgraded ones?

Also, can they cause damage to other components if they have needed to be changed for a while? like the shocks?

Thanks

Mac

my upgraded powerflex ones cost just over £40 for the part. There is no point in not getting them because they are actually easier to fit than putting standard ones back in.

The old ones are a proper pain to get out. We were absoloutely belting the crap out of the drivers side with a hammer and chisel.

We tried air sawing into it and it still wouldnt budge.

In the end we had to warm it up slightly to get the thing out.

Some places wont even change them for you because they know how much of a pain they are.

If the guy would supply and fit powerflex ones for £150, its prob not too much of a bad shout,

see if anyone else on here can referr you to someone cheaper

bought powerflex rear beam bushes for mine for £45/£50 and got them fitted along with 2 new rear pads and discs for £100 by my local mechanic - reckon you could get them fitted for about £70/£80 mate

depends how easy they come out, 9 out of 10 times they dont want to come out hence the price's, if your local garage has a good press cant see any reason no more than 150

Hi Ant, long time no speak! I can do the VRs bushes fitted for £120 all in and give your car a good winter checkover while it's in. I can do polybushes for the same price but they're a bit harsh for road use.. the VRs ones i put on Asif's car worked brilliantly :afro: PM me if you want to arrange it.
