Ive seen alot of 'electric supercharger kits' advertised on the internet cost around £200 and fit directly onto your air intake system and forces air into the intake via this electric powered motor, apparently the gains are pretty good according to the adverts but has anyone ever fitted one? or know of someone who has fitted one?
-
Sounds like a scam TBH :s
-
If they were that good we would all have one at £200.
Sorry bruv
-
Yes they are as good as they say, I think the gains are something like 300bhp. Get one and we can all point and laugh at you !

Read this mate:

i think you'll find everything you need there, and why you shouldn't get one.

Im guessing it's more 'hairdryer' than full on 'blower'

Ha, im sold!

well i had a little look in to this and if you think about how much air gets suckedin to the intake of any engine 1.4 to 2.0l and think how fast that motor will have to spin to keep up at idle and it has to do more than just keep up
save the £200 and put it towards something good like 1.8t a3 engine
-
100% pointless and a daft idea.
-
give me £200 and I will get your more power than that....Have you seen my turbocharged fuel magnets and power stickers? at least 10% more power each
(b.t.w both products do exist!)

are you trying to say these don't work? more of my money waisted as I've just ordered one!
-
My next big scheme is to graft the guts of a vacuum cleaner into the exhaust system. Positive extraction of the spent gases is the next big thing I tell you. I fully expect my 'Valver to generate over 450bhp and return 85-90mpg with this fitted.

And it isn't a new idea! Was having a scan through some old '50s and '60s car mags. There were plenty of pointless wonder gadgets to waste your money on back in the "good old days" as well!

Of course not Bradley!
I was referring to the original post!
Your fantastically powerful gadjets and really worthwhile!

Remember watching a episode of topgear where they spent 1000's modifying a renault avantime and didnt make much of a difference....
Only when all the weight and slick tyres were put on did they start to get quicker laps
I'm sure if they had installed one of these kits they would of beaten the evos time around the track

They do increase speed...place one next to your balls so each time you brake you get a small nip and I guarantee you'll drive faster!
