Title: 2nd Gear Problems

Hey. I have a 97 (r) 8v gti and every so often I have a problem finding second. Has anyone else had this? The gearbox itself feels very stiff when running cold too...just wondering if there is anything I can do...

First and cheapest thing to do is change the gear box oil.

Also , check that your gear stick isnt loose .

I was having trouble finding gear , and all i tried [after someone else posted about it ] was to give the gear stick a couple of clockwise turns. Much better now
