Title: Gearbox drive shaft leak/loose! (Pic)
Post by: RossyB108 on 27 November 2010, 18:23
Hi,

Can anyone have a look at the pic below and tell me what's going on here?

I can see it's leaking, but I'm not sure if it has come free or if that much of the green plastic should be showing?

Is it dangerous if it is loose? Not worked with gearbox/driveshafts before.

Thanks

Ross

Clean it up, including the area above, and make sure its not engine oil leaking from the block itself. Then re-visit after a few days.

It could be moly grease from the output flange that has flicked everywhere - difficult to say without cleaning it.

What does the oil smell like?

Are you refering to the horrendous smell off g/box oil?
