ok so i was stood in traffic the other day when i noticed the temp on my aum was creeping up , i thought this was strange but when i started moving again it dropped back to 90, i thought id have a look around anyway and after a bit of investigating i found it had melted the fuse on top of the battery cover completely mullering the fuse box in the process, i have ordered a new box as i have no working fans for the rad now but i was thinking something must be wrong for this to happen right?
im not sure the last time everything was working ok probably the last hot day we had as i know the aircon was working, iv looked at the fans they appear to move freely with no exess play etc havnt tested them as yet tho , is there anything that draws power through this fuse (left hand green fuse on battery cover) and has anyone else had this happen and found what has caused it ?

you can test if the fan is working properly by simply, taking the fan switch off located in the radiator. and put long nose pliers between the two terminals, if the fans switches on then you have a problem else where.
the reason for a fuse blowing is down to high current flowing through it. may be a case of having the wrong amp fuse there.

fuse didnt blow it melted the plastic on it and the fusebox which is the worrying part . ampage of fuse was correct to

Mine melted the box. Replaced fuse and box and no problems since.
