Title: thickness of windscreen....
Post by: player.777 on 26 November 2010, 15:01
does anyone know what it was from the factory?  Had a split screen so shelled out £70 through Admiral for National Windscreens to fit a 'replacement' (or 'substitute' should be more like it).  Have had two screens in now and both have a lot of wind noise when going over 50ish.  Second time, the guy blamed the glue not settling down enough on the first one, but this second one is just the same.  I asked if they used thinner glass than VW and he said they 'use BSA standard glass'- so didn't actually answer my question!!!!  Does anyone know VW depth in mm compared to N.Windscreen depth???

They should be the same to be honest mate can't imagine them fitting thinner glass as like the guy said all new windscreens are made to iso standard.
