As most of the regulars no i hang about this section quite a bit.. I have now got used to using all the products i have but now i wana go a step further..
My car has some quite light scratches and swirls from 8 years of previous bad washing !! I want to get myself a DA polisher and i have asked about these before so will be purchasing one soon from Waxamomo but what i really want to know is what starter products shall i buy to use with the polisher..
I want a slightly aggressive compound to remove some deepish scuffs i have.. damage just to clearcot not at paint yet..
I want a fine polish to remove minor scratches and swirl marks..
Is there anything else i need ??
I have looked online and fancy the 3 set of 3m products and you get quite a lot for £100 is there anything else you guys recommend ??
Cheers in advance

for vag paint menzerna polishes will give you very good results, 3m polishes are excellent but if you are using them on just your own car then the big bottles will go out of date before you have chance to use them so consider that when buying 3m.
or have a look at the wolf polishes chris(waxamomo) has just started stocking, also get yourself some ipa for wiping down after the polishing stage then use a good machine glaze to deepen the gloss and depth of the finish.
get good quality pads aswell as cheap ones will fall apart very quickly and wont give you a nice finish either.

http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Menzerna_Polish_Triple_Packs_1.html these are the mutts on vag paint
-
do they go out of date Dan ??
Will the small ones be more than enough for me to do a few cars ??
and is there pads and masking tape you recommend ??
cheers mate
-
the small ones are fine and will last you ages, you only need 3/4 pea size blobs per working area and pre mist your pad with water or qd before applying polish to the pad.
pads:
http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Menzerna_135mm_Pads.html scroll down for the various grades, these are perfect for DA's(not too big)
tape:
http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/3M_Automotive_Masking_Tape_1.html scroll down for the blue tape

Cheers for that Dan.. I am thinking of the das pro polisher would you recommend this or another ??
-
no probs mate, that or the g220 http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Meguiars_G220_Menzerna_Kit2_1.html

-

Just hold your horses there
Can't argue with Dan about the Menz polishes, they really are good, but have a read of a link i'll put up a bit later on about the Wolf polishes. The Wolf man is just writing it as we speak and so should be available tonight.
As for a polisher, i'll sort you out a good deal
