Title: Idle Hunting
Post by: AudiS2 on 09 February 2005, 15:16
Hi, just to let you know I'm the older brother of GreenDA, ive prettry much fixed everything on the car with the idle problems, was mostly air and vacume leaks, though now it seems to be running smooth, just hunting for the idle the whole time, when i pump the break the revs stay at 1600 ish and doesnt seem to hunt too much, am i right in thinking this could be a vacum leak from the brake servo (brake bomb).
Cheers any help appreciated.
Mike

Yeah I'm afraid that does sound like a brake servo. If youhave checked and sealed every other vacume leaks then it can't really be anything else anyway.

I'd double check everything though just in case, as shelling out for a new servo and not needing it would be rather upsetting!

Not entirely sure, you could get a second hand one (THere are a few people breaking MKII's in the "Parts for sale" forum) or you could look up the cost of a new or exchange one on sites like www.gsfcarparts.com
