Title: 0 to 60
Post by: gallmbt21 on 23 November 2010, 19:06
Is it my lack of driving skill or is it better to change to 2nd gear at 30mph in a Remapped aum? I only want to know as I will be going up the drag strip next year. I have just done 6 runs 0to60 3 of which I changed at 30ish and I got 6seconds flat for all 3. The other 3 I reved to 7200rpm and changed at 45 to 2nd gear and was roughly 6.5 to 7seconds. Any insight ? half a second is massive on the strip.

Thanks in advance

when the torque starts fading away the car will not accelorate as fast therefore proberbly best changing gear about 30 - 35. imo

Peak power in a turbo car is never at the high end of the rev range so make sure you change a bit before the limiter.

when your shifting to 2nd you need to be in the sweet power band, so as you drop in gear your revs need to bee around 3500rpm.  During a race I tend to use every bit of rpm on offer and at the moment thats around 7800rpm in every gear. :smug:

It does help somewhat that your car Is legendary in every gear throughout the entire rev range!!!
