Right now that i've got your attention
i'd like to say hello to you all, also i've been a voyeur of the forum for a few months now since buying a MK4 TD 130. Must say you guys got a hefty amount of knowledge and without posting a thread i've learnt a fair bit.
So cheers for that everyone that posts good shizzle and for those that post some foony stoof some of the sarcasm makes me wee
So what would you chaps do to a totally standard 130 first?
I'm after more economy if possible as my car hasn't been that good to me so far as I get about 450 at most out of a tank of motorway driving, if I did the pottering in town then i'd get less but use it mainly for work on the motorway so not bothered about pottering in town.
Many folk on here boast about 550 to 650 to a tank on these smoke chuggers, I feel left out :(

Theres a lot to be said about doing a good decent full service on the car seeing as you have just bought it a few months ago.
Welcome to the fun house :D

The guy I bought the motor from said he'd recently had it serviced and the book is all stamped up.
Cheers for the warm welcome chaps.

Hi and welcome.
-
Funny avatar mate, need to find a decent one on mine.
-
Next thing is to get it re-mapped then mate! Welcome.

Welcome
-
I get about 500. 600 at a push on my very mapped 130PD.
I noticed a 3mpg increase from decating it and a lot more when it was mapped.

hello, welcome along

Yeah remapping does sound like a superb mod to do next but i'm just worried about posts I read in the TDI section when people go see these remap places and the next thing you know post remap they got all sorts of problems and hundreds get chucked at the car after the map and some problems can't even be found which leaves some drivers lumbered with poop mpg.
I'm hoping it's just a boost leak so need to get it seen to, I live in Notts, anyone know a good place in Notts?
