Title: MK3 16V Temp Gauge
Post by: js75 on 23 November 2010, 10:21
Hi there,
I'm new to the forum, but have a question I hope somebody out there may be able to help me with.

I have a 1998 R reg MK3 GTI 16V

Recently, the red LED for the Temp Gauge has been 'flashing' on start-up - only on start-up.
When the car reaches running temp - it switches off.

The gauge itself seems to be performing perfectly, but the flashing has concerned me somewhat.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Many thanks,
JS

disconnect the plug for the level sensor on the tank, and bridge the pins. if that doesnt help, disconnect the red/yel wire from the single pin sensor on the side of the head. if that sorts it, the sensor may be duff
