Hi guys, I 've just got myself a set of shorter shocks and springs to get the ride a bit closer to the ground . I've had a good read throught the haynes and bentley guides about removing and refitting the standard shocks and think I'm up to the job.
I was just wondering if the job is any different because the new shocks/springs are shorter? or there were any things to look out for - or tips on making the job easier!!

When doin the rear axle do both sides at the same time or it gets difficult yo push the axle down enough.
-
Cool - that makes sense, cheers for the tip! Some people are saying that you need to cut down the bump stop too, is this right?
-
I didn't on mine but then I have coilies. Just see how it sits. My mates 60mm lower and his is fine on the bumpstops. Just have to fit it take it for a drive. If its stupid bouncy cut them down.

Borrow a impact driver if you dont have one and get a slotted nut tool - will make life so much easier...
Whilst it's in bits might as well replace all the bumpstops & top mounts IMO
-
We're bout r u as I have a slotted tool I made for mk2 topmounts
-
Watch out for the exhaust on the rear axle, ive been faffing about with various exhaust rubbers for the last couple of weeks trying to get mine to sit right.
-
Reckon I'll shell out for a strut nut tool - spotted this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320608553643&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1594wt_1141
I'll have a look at the top mounts and bump stops when they come off to see what condition they're in, and will prob replace them.
Not looking forward to more exhaust problems though, I've been messing around with different exhaust rubbers as is!!

Good Link - Thats one on the shopping list!!
I didn't have any issues with the exhaust when I fitted mine!

Depending on what you need to re-use, lay all the parts out in a line, in order of fitment.
Buy new bump stops if you havn't got them and also new G60 or Gold Mk3 top mounts for the front struts.
