hi guys just wanted some help i dont know what this part is, but steam was coming out of it rather rapidly earlier (sorry its a crap pic)

It's the flange the is bolted to the side of the head. They breakdown with age and can start to leak.
That's presuming it's the big black thing on the end of the head, held on with two 10mm bolts.
Replacement should be about £5 from GSF or EuroCarParts.

yes mate it is the black flangy do dab it just started hissing and filled the engine bay with steam lol
its going to the garage wednesday so just wanted to make sure i told him the right thing when i phoned him

Errr, no offence, but a 10mm spanner and a flat-bladed screwdriver and you could swap that out yourself in about 10 minutes.

yeah i know but the mechanic has it wednesday anyway so i figured while hes there he might aswell do it for me
