Title: Supersprint Exhaust setup
Post by: philadams16V on 08 February 2005, 23:14
I've heard that the supersprint is the best performance exhaust you can get for a valver.? I was just wondering really wot difference performance wise replacing

this

with this

and replacing the mid box

with this

would make.

I realise the whole system would be louder overall, but does the straight through setup allow the gases to escape quicker hence increasing overall performance compared to having the more expensive boxes?

Cheers

in theory yes. the less restrictions the quicker it'll flow out. but i'd imagine it'll be f**kin loud! i did without the middle box so only havethe two rears and to be honest although it sounds awesome it is too loud for driving any distance.

replacing them pipes will only notice a very slight difference to your car. probably not even noticeable in day to day driving.

SuperSprint boxes are v.well flowed

if it was me i would go with the normal susperprint setup with all exisitng silencers. but look at getting a 4-2-1 manifold or at least get your exisitng manifold properly flowed - thats where the big bhp increases come from

The 16v exhaust manifold is already quite good

Gambit,

I thought that the 16V manifold was already pretty well flowed, will a new stainless 4-2-1 manifold really make much difference?

Cheers

yes buy you can improve on it still

RR tests also showed that an aftermarket stainless steel system gained very little over a std VAG 16v system!

its the manifold where u see the most gains
