Title: brake lights not working-easy fix
Post by: vdubman on 21 November 2010, 20:54
brake lights not working even after you checked the fuses and bulbs?have a look at the brake pedal near the top section you will find a little black plastic box, make sure that the connector is plugged in properly.turning it anti clockwise will loosen it for better acces but u dont need to this.

And they only cost a couple of quid to replace.

It showed on VAG com on my dad's 2001 Audi.
Not sure if it shows on earlier cars.

wont show on mk3 or earlier. also while we on the subject, if you feck around with brake servo and/or pedal you can push the switch out of adjustment.
the pin on it is on like a ratchet system.  push the pedal down then pull the pin out as far as it will go, then release the pedal. this resets pin adjustment.  if your brake lights wont switch off, this is usually why.

well if you get if gsf then you wont be able to adjust it much before you feck it up. best to get it from dealers as they are much better, gsf only lasted about a month and had to go back but they didnt want to give a refund so left it and got 1 from dealers.
