ok i've done a search ok the 311mm link in info don't work........
so, how hard is the VR6 break upgrade and are they loads better?
cheers peeps.
-
Vr6 is the same size as a later 8v 288mm.
-
I've heard that using 312mm discs and carriers are a good upgrade, can use your standard claipers too. Was looking into this for mine but now I might be selling I probably won't be doing it.
-
what would the 312 breaks come off?
and mines a n- reg so i guess mine are smaller?

Mk4 Golf Anni (petrol), Mk4 4-Motion, Mk1 S3, Mk1 TT.
You need the calliper carriers and discs, plus a 6mm spacer between the hub and calliper carrier to sort the offsets out.
Callipers are the same, as are pads & brake lines.

Yup, 288mm...but should have the correct callipers.

To be honest unless your running mega bhp the 288 set up is fine.

Still not really needed.

uprated discs and pads will be fine.
your brakes are only as good as the tyres so make sure you have wide tyres with lots of grip.

The first link in the Sticky thread may not work anymore but ALL the info is still there if you care to read it!
