My mk4 has the nasty cream interior from floor to head lining.
Has anyone ever swapped the whole lot over including the dash?
If so how hard was it?
Many thanks
Ben

Yes it can and has been done, lots and lots of work.

It's time consuming but fairly straightforward to do
IIRC you only need the trim pieces and glovebox for the lower part of the dash
Set aside at least a day if you've never done this type of work before. Also I'd start from the front of the car and work backwards
In the MK4 you need to remove the centre console so you can get at the radio cage to allow access to the hidden screw which helps hold the glovebox in place
Here's a useful link

i am in the process of doing this also, the cream/beige interior is not to my liking anymore.... i have been getting all the parts together for some time now as it is not cheap when you realise how many trim pieces need to be changed !
have you thought about what you're going to do with the headliner ?? from what i've read only the anni came with a black headliner ? (som1 may correct me on this though) am going to get mine re-trimmed by a friend as i have a sun roof and dnt fancy my chances...
am i right in thinking the carpet and headliner are the most difficult parts to change ?
sorry for jumping on your thread but thought seeing as its directly related no point starting a new one

id say the headlining and carpet are 1 of the easiest when the trims and everything else are removed if youre not far from peterborough i can point you in the right direction?!?.... failing that i still have a garage full of black interior panels from a gti 3 door :)
