Title: got the golf back today... ADDED CAGE PIC
Post by: jake on 21 November 2010, 13:02
hi guys!

Well after 3 long months of waiting, as the body and fabricator took a while getting round to doing the job i have finally got her back! And i have never been so pleased! Don't get me wrong the car still looks pretty nakered but i can see the potential behind this project now! And I feel more and more confident that it's going to work!

Just a quick run through of what has been done
1. Full structural roll cage
2. Arch work on the car
3. Rear diffuser
4. Rear un-necessary parts removed
5. Rear tyre well removed and replaced with plate
6. Bonnet pins added to carbon bonnet

Tbh i dont know why im posting these photos are they are pretty sh.i.t but i just wanted to share! I am going to take some proper photos with the camera this week.

Next on the list carbon bonnet, all the body work sorted including full respray, suspension, engine conversion then maybe...... just maybe i might be able to get her on a track next year :)

I know some people will hate what im doing with the car as it's not "scene", and some people will dislike some of the ideas! But marmite ideas to me are always the best!

Anyway guys feedback much appreciated! Once again terrible photos but hopefully you can see how good she looks!

I love the kit but I'm not sure on the filler on the arches...

Lol Come on mate do you really think that fillers staying :-P , we were just playing around with how it could look but I want to keep the seam visible so the fillers going!

Thanks tech yeah not half the bumper, half the car lol! I love the diffuser some won't but to me its track as f.u.c.k lol .

Cheers rnp yeah engines there are a few I'm thinking of! The car will be getting painted once I've sourced more carbon! The fabricator had it for a while as I was in no rush to get it back so he did a couple of days on it every week

How could someone not like it. It's awesome! It'll look unbelievable with paint too. The wheels look mean too. Can't fault it. If only I had the money to do it and the bottle to wreck it to begin with hoping that the end product will work...... Good skills!!!

Good man, I was wondering as a kit like that really needs the seams showing, even rivets showing would look good like the Proton GTI lol

Black? That would be originial

All that work to make it look different then do it black lol? To be honest in my opinion that car looks a little confused! Its a touring car kit i.e. track on a euro car?

Dont get me wrong, gorgeous car yet trying to do too many things! By the way for those who don't know, the owner of PVW owns that car :)

Black would be good, after all the body mods a mad colour would make it look a little.... Southend seafront.

I love silver cars myself.
