Title: Baking My Lights In The Oven, But Which Gas Mark? (fan assisted oven)......
Post by: CHRIS_MC on 20 November 2010, 19:14
ok, story goes, bought a set of genuine hella angel eyes for my mates mk3 1.6 auto from eBay (for £108).

bargain u say? well yes, except they may aswell have been posted with no packaging at all, as they arrived in a thousand pieces,

so, smashed to hell, my mate was pissed off, i gave him his money back & then chased the seller for a partial refund, as i thought i could (can) repair them,

i have a set of original gti lights (diffused glass, not clear ), but figured i could swap the glass over, even tho the angel eye glass wouldnt be clear, it would still be better than the original ones, (i dont think i could source clear glass)

so i was wonderin has anyone ever dismantled their lights?........basically is it just heating up the silicone till they can be seperated?

i dont want to over heat & warp the whole assembly.....

ta for any tips ;]

If you don't fancy baking them it is possible to do it with a hairdryer and a stanley knife

As above.

Or pop in the oven on 220 and wrap bacon around then and drizzle in a cheese sauce! yum!
