Title: Catch can inlet/outlet 19mm, essential?
Post by: Dave_IOW on 20 November 2010, 16:24
Found this and wondered if this would work, shelling out for the sachi one would be great, but unfortunately not feasable

Yeah i imagined this was the case, just want to know why really.

Looks like a few on mk-iv's have used this same one and seems to work ok.

Want to know the 'science' behind it

I've been running a 15mm can for nearly 4 months and haven't noticed any issues. It's easy to find 19mm - 15mm downsizers and go from there....

Use to have one of them, the only problem I had was the see-through level tube warped and started leaking. But with a jubilee on a 19mm ID tubing you can make it air tight onto a 15mm ID head. Will need a extra tighten every so often but then it will be magical and be sealed tight. I achieved this on couplin silicon which is very thick and stiff, so if I can compress that to a 15mm diameter i'm sure you can

Can outlet = 10mm or 15mm
Hose inside diameter = 19mm so you would need silicone reducers.

I got myself a Sachi one in the end with 19mm inlet/outlets.. cheers adam :afro:
