Its probably a stupid question, but is the ISO loom on the golf non standard. My headunit doesnt remember setting and radio stations etc...

common problem with aftermarket stereos.

swap the yellow and red wires over. ie

CAR          HU
YELL ---  RED
RED  ---  YELL
