Title: ecotek valve

hi chaps and chapesses

heard some good stuff about ecotek valves......so...... i went out and bought one
i have as i'm sure you know a mk3 2.0 8v
has anyone else fitted one of these units
diagrams please
next to the inlet manifold there is a small tube then a plastic pipe with two small tubes coming off it that are blanked off with two blue caps then there is a non-return valve
it says in the instructions that the ecotek valve should go six inches or so from the injection manifold
help please

Don't mean to put a dampner on your purchase but I think the general consensus of opinion is that the ecotek valve only really makes a difference on carbs.  :undecided: I'd be surprised if anyone on here has fit one to a mk3, I think a few have tried them on mk2s though.

they are supposed to be good on both injection and carb as it is the effect it has on the mixture that improves the cleanliness of the burn but hey I'll give it a go and let you guys know

I've got one fitted to mine (97 Mk3 2.0l 8v) and to be honest, i wish i had'nt bothered now. It was really fiddly to tune, the locking ring on it would always keep coming undone, causing it to untune and give me horrible fuel consumption and a constant rasping noise. When it would stay tuned, the gurgling noise (this is normal with it) was very intrusive, so i fitted a pipercross filter designed to mask this but i found this barely made a difference. My friend fitted one of these to a clio 1.8 16v and found the same problems as me. My opinion is not to bother, as mine spends its days screwed shut now.

i had one on my 16v. encountered same problems as gti_gaff, so i took it off. sold it on ebay for more than i paid for it(result)
